
• 1 15oz can Organic chickpeas/garbanzo beans
• 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (~ 1 large organic lemon)
• 1/4 cup Organic Tahini
• 1 TBSP minced garlic
• 1 tsp Shaklee Instant Soy Protein Mix
• 2 TBSP olive oil
• 1 pinch of salt
• 2 to 3 TBSP water
Combine tahini and lemon juice for 1 minute (I use a magic bullet—you can also use a food processor.) Scrape sides and bottom of bowl then blend/process for another 30 seconds. For the creamiest hummus, blend twice as directed.
Add the olive oil, minced garlic, soy protein and the salt to the tahini and lemon juice mixture. Blend/process for 30 seconds, scrape sides and bottom of bowl then blend/process another 30 seconds.
Drain liquid from the can of chickpeas and then rinse well with water. Add half of the chickpeas to the magic bullet/food processor for 1 minute. Scrape sides and bottom of cup/bowl, add remaining chickpeas and blend/process for 1 to 2 minutes or until smooth.
Enjoy with sliced veggies or healthy chips!!! Refrigerate remaining hummus for later use
